Google AdSense introduce new colors for their Ads
Google AdSense is certainly the most known text targeted advertising program for publishers, available since years it offered many services and variety for their ads, different forms, colors, links, image ... etc. Recently and due to the big concurrence started by Yahoo! and Microsoft, AdSense offer now a new program for their publishers called Referrals . The new program include two sub programs for AdSense itself and Google Toolbar for Firefox.
The affiliation program for AdSense looks reasonable, because they give for publishes $100 for every user they refer and make his first $100, which is a very very profitable offer for google. But in the other side you notice that google is promoting also its toolbar for Firefox ? It was pretty interesting for the Firefox community to have such action to promote them against the IE dominance.
The program even new, google is making many new changes that we didn't see google making in others which is making a set of colors for their Ads. In the beginning all colors was black, gray and green and always a white background. But Google very soon changed and introduced more colorful Ads.
It was very interesting to see the difference between the colorful ads and the ones with white background, and certainly the colors that google choosed for their ads will attract you anyway ! Sites today are no longer using such colors of orange and blue, specially that the ads are very basic, with a simple message and a logo.
Let's go back a little, in the beginning google offered Firefox referral program for US publishers only, the program will give you up to $1 USD for every user you refer and he install Firefox and google toolbar for the first time. Referral for users who already use google toolbar won't be counted. And it looks like the program didn't take much popularity specially that it still used only by US publishers. That's why google didn't took long time to make it available for international publishers. I give it a try personaly and received few hits, but no money at all.
Just out of curiosity, why google is making such action ? to promote firefox ? to promote google toolbar ? or to experiment new stuff ? I'll agree more for the last hypothese ! Because as soon as colorful Ads for firefox have been released, google added more colors for their AdSense ads. And if you look more further you'll see that the colors are in harmoney between white, green and blue. And the same thing goes for the firefox ads.
Something also I noticed is that Colorful ads aren't available in all formats, why is that ? Color are certainly to attract visitor to click, but also the size ! And we remember that AdSense always recommand BIG sized ads to get more clicks, the small ads aren't so lucky, so it was pretty interesting to make people notice them and maybe click ?
