AdSense Ad And Image Placement Policy

Arlene Lee, AdSense Publisher Support, posted on the Official AdSense blog some clarifications on the AdSense Ads and image placement which was used to attract visitors and generate more clicks. It's clear that it is not allowed to place and arrange images with ads in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors. So simply don't line up images with ads, you will generate less clicks than usual but that's the clicks you are supposed to really earn. Otherwise you are against the AdSense Policy and your account might be suspended.

You can definitely place Google ads on pages containing images -- just make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors. For example, if you run a stock photography site with a catalog of thumbnail images, don't line the ads up with the thumbnails in a way that could be misleading. Consider using a full border around your ads or changing your ad colors, for example.
