Step Into The Review Product

We talked previously about the review product and how it have been introduced by ReviewMe. After many discussions with many bloggers and advertisers, I come to many conclusions; the first one is that the Review product is viable and efficient advertising solution. It works very well in classic newspapers, so why not for the web.

The second conclusion is that many bloggers are not ready to post paid reviews, or consider it as an advertising solution in the same time that they create new and fresh content for their blogs. The idea here is to get profit in the two senses, writing something new and monetizing their blogs.

Update : There are updates today by ReviewMe, bloggers are able to set their own price, in addition to a new affiliate program.

It's interesting here to focus on bloggers and how they could make the review product more interesting for advertisers. I have accepted for example in three months six reviews (maybe more) published on phpmagazine.net for $250 the review, which is not bad in my opinion while we consider it as new articles and tried to give it more time and effort. Paid review don't mean for us to say that the product is good and recommend visitors to buy it, but we consider reviewing all technical details that will help readers to make a decision if it's worth to buy.

I don't have an experience with paid posts, because I noticed that many allow to not disclosing that it's paid, but I think reviews with disclosure of payment is more synonym of advertisement. But what I find it great here is the value that bloggers are adding to the review product to make it more interesting for advertisers. Many bloggers are following the strategy we are using here at phpmagazine.net, thing that could generate discussion around the product and get valuable feedbacks. We provided for example recommendations for some products we have reviewed; to create new features and how it can be improved, and this is also a positive value created that could be considered as a consultancy. Somehow it's one of the objectives of reviews, is to get an expert's point of view of a product.
